The EM Contingency Group Story
Founded in 2020 by U.S. Air Force veteran Mario Barnes, EM Contingency Group is the result of years of experience gained in some of the most challenging construction environments in the world. Mario spent more than a decade managing projects in Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, and El Salvador, supporting U.S. government operations and working alongside military and civilian teams in high-risk settings .
After returning home to Mississippi, Mario focused on building the financial foundation to launch his own company — one committed to honesty, quality, and service. From those beginnings, EM Contingency Group has grown into a trusted partner for both residential and commercial construction, as well as land clearing, site preparation, and specialty contracting across Mississippi and Alabama.
Our company is licensed with the Mississippi State Board of Contractors and carries multiple endorsements in building, mechanical, and telecommunications trades. More than credentials, though, we believe our work speaks for itself: dependable projects delivered with integrity, and relationships built to last.
